Error when loading a game help please

When I run the start up file on my Delta Force 2 cd to reload the game now
that I have upgraded to XP Pro I get the following error:

C:\windows\system32\autoecec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to terminate the
application.

No mater what I do it still won't load.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get past this and load this game?

You might have to repair it the following way:

Go to c:\windows\repair
look for autoexec.nt
copy it into your c:\windows\system32 folder

Restart your computer and try to install again

I had the same problem with a different game - the suggested repair worked
great but when I restarted my computer the problem was back again. The
repair works each time but is there a way to make the repair permanent?
any advice gratefully received
