Error when installing Messenger 5.0

When installing Messenger 5.0 or 6.0 in Windows XP, I
get "An error occured during the installation of assembly
component {874793FC-5F43-496A-8FE7-18C4DB9B143D}.
HResult: -2147024894" Anyone have a solution or know
where I can look to resolve this issue.

I have the messenger 5.0 and msn messenger 6.2.
Messenger 5.0 never worked, but msn messenger 6.2, works just fine.
Don't know why this only emerge now.
Is msn 6.2 interfering wiht messenger 5.0???
Thoses messenger 5.0 coexists with msn6.2 installed????
Till now just append with this pdf file, acrobat reader is the last,
updated. *
