even though i followed the steps to fix this error, i still end up on the
same blue screen. ive tried to reboot to safe mode, and everything that tells
me to do, but i still end up in the same place. please let me know if there
is any other way to fix this problem. i really do not want to spend a lot opf
money on something that can be repaired through your help!

thanks, anne

If you already ran Chkdsk with the /p switch and then the /r switch from
Recovery Console with no luck, then your hard drive may have failed or
your Windows installation may be too corrupted. There is no way for us
to guess which it is. To test the hard drive's viability, download a
diagnostic utility from the drive mftr.'s website. You will create a
bootable cd/floppy with this file. Boot the machine with the media you
created and do a thorough test of the drive. If it fails any physical
tests, replace the drive.

If the drive passes the physical tests, use a rescue cd such as Knoppix
or a Bart's PE to back up your data to external media (if data was not
previously backed up) and first try a Repair Install. If the Repair
Install doesn't work, do a Clean Install of Windows.

I'm sorry but I don't know what "can get into the boot place lol" means.
I don't mean to hurt your feelings in any way, but based on this post I
think you should take the machine to a qualified computer repair shop.
This will not be your local version of BigStoreUSA. The testing and data
retrieval procedures require having another computer and a fair amount
of computer skills. Again, I'm not trying to insult you but I think this
would be your best course of action.

hello malke...no offense taken...meaning the boot place is the area where you
hit delete while rebooting, and getting into that screen that has options to
reformat. i think its bios or something or another...anyway, thank you very
much for helping me. ireally appreciate it!!
