A Google search suggests that this may be caused by Norton AntiVirus
and/or Norton Internet Security, interacting with MicroSoft Office in
some way, a possible solution being to uninstall and then re-install MS
Office.

Assuming that you have both a Norton product and MS Office installed,
before you uninstall/re-install Office, you might want to do some clean
boot troubleshooting as described in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560/
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/
