At the end of the startup, I keep getting the message:

'SiSUSBgr.exe-Unable to locate component: This application has failed to
start because SiS_hib.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may
fix the problem.'

Firstly, I did a Disk Cleanup/Disk Repair (checking both the detect and
repair boxes) followed by a Defrag. Still getting the error.

Then, I typed the above text into Google and found that it's the SiS audio
driver. The SiS 7012 to be precise.

I uninstalled the driver. Then I went to the registry and removed the SiS
folder.

I then went here> http://download.sis.com/agreement.php?id=155808 and
downloaded and installed the driver.

I am still getting the error message.

On the right hand side of the above link there is a feature called Identify
Your Product. I ran this and it says that I have three(!) SiS drivers for
the following items:

North Bridge Chipset: 645DX
South Bridge Chipset: 962/962L

External Graphic Card ( Standalone GPU ): ATi

But, the problem seems to be with the audio one.

Any idea what is still wrong and how I can stop this infernal message?

Thanks.

Thanks. I already did.

It appears I need a 32kb file called sis_lib.dll

Is this part of XP Pro? i.e. can I reinstall it somehow?

It obviously isn't part of the 7012 driver or it would have reinstalled with
it.

Thanks.

Try reinstalling the 'SIS AGP to PCI Bridge' driver and that should put the
file in question back in the windows subdirectory.
