I was syncronising both my laptop and my desk top when I came to use the
outlook there is an error message as follows, Outlook.pst is not a personal
folders file. how am I able to inport this folder??????

Make sure it is not a read only file. Also note that it is better to connect
to it by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File... instead of importing it.

How were you performing the synchronization? If you're copying PSTs and you
had Outlook open when you did, then you've corrupted your PST permanently
and will have to copy it again, this time with Outlook closed. If that's
not how you're "syncing", state the method and include your account type and
Outlook version.
