I am receiving a few error messages in succession when I open up windows.
The computer has slowed down to a crawl & I have exhausted all other
solutions. The errors are as follows:

1.)RUNDLL Error loading irprops.cpl
2.)hkcm.dexe Application error Application failed to initialize
(0xc0000006)
3.)igfxtray.exe Application error Application failed to initialize
(0xc0000006)

I would really appreciate any help.

Thankyou,
BC

You receive a "RUNDLL Error loading irprops.cpl" error message when you
start Windows XP

Wesley,

Thankyou for responding. I don't know how to disable the Intel item you
were writing about though. Would you please explain?

Thanks again.

Look for shortcut to Intel item(s) in...
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and/or
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Delete the shortcut(s).

Wes,

Thanks again for replying, unfortunately there are no Intel shortcuts in
either of the places you suggested. Any ideas?

Thanks

Right click those program icons (Hotkey and igfxtray) in the Notification
Area (down by your clock).

Look for options to Start at boot, when Windows starts, etc. and
uncheck/disable those options.

Or open your Start Menu and look for any Intel programs.
Or open C:\Program Files and look for any Intel programs.

Open Intel Hotkey and igfxtray and look for options to Start at boot, when
Windows starts, etc. and uncheck/disable those options.

Failing that...
You can look in regedit for startup entries for igfxtray.exe and hkcmd.exe
and disable them there. However if they are disabled in the registry and
the programs have options like mentioned above and are *not* disabled within
the programs themselves they may very well recreate startup entries in the
registry automatically.
