When attempting to open the Local Policy MMC snap-in, I
receive the error msg "Snap-in failed to initialize. Name:
Group Policy CLSID: {8FC0B734-A0E1-11D1-A7D3-000F87571E3}."
This happens regardless of whether I try initializing the
MMC console first and then select Add Group Policy snap-in
or running the gpedit.msc command.
How can I eliminate this error and initialize the Group
Policy snap-in for the local machine?
