Error opening ControlPanel

Double-click My Computer.

Click "Change a setting" under System Tasks or double-
click Control Panel under Other results in this message:

"An error occurred while Windows was working with the
Control Panel file C:\WINDOWS\system32\netsetup.cpl."

Clicking OK to dismiss the error, Control Panel opens and
all is well.

Clicking "Back" and repeating duplicates the error.

Opening Control Panel from the Start Menu does not
produce the error.

I just installed SP2. Admittedly, cannot say if the
problem existed prior.

I am releatively new to Windows, have not gottn brave
enough to try anything esoteric with this computer, less
than two weeks old.

Anyt thoughts?

Correction.

I DO get the error open Control Panel through Start Menu.

I can definitely say this did NOT happen before SP2.
