Error on Stimon.exe

Hi!
My PC is w98 SE and my scanner CanoScan N670U. One day I got an error
message that the Stimon.exe file has been corrupted. The PC would no longer
recognize the scanner. MS Support gave a lengthy and difficult instruction
for
repair, including renaming the file etc., too complicated for me. I shut
down,
connected the scanner, followed instructions in the Canon Booklet and ended
up with the message: Install the TWAIN drivers. From then on I go in
circles.
My PC shop has tried all and now wants to reformat which I would rather not.
Can anyone help?

I'd suggest asking this in a newsgroup related to Windows 98 hardware, or
else get in touch with Canon.

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.
