Every time i start outlook i get the following error
message:

"The procedure entry point getIUMS could not be located in
the dynamic link library msdart.dll"

with an OK box. If i click the OK box 6 times the program
continues and seems to work as normal. The message also
appears when i move from any other part of outlook
(calendar, tasks, etc) back to the inbox. This isn't
stopping me using the program but is extremely irritating.
I have completely uninstalled office and then reinstalled
but this doesn't appear to have helped.

Thanks

This is caused by Windows XP improperly naming the msdart dll file. Download
(right click and save) DARTFIX.BAT to your desktop and click on it. This
will make a copy of MSDART.DLL and name it MSDART32.DLL. It will be placed
in the Windows/System32 directory.

CLOSE OUTLOOK FIRST!

If you are uncomfortable downloading a BAT file, using Windows Explorer,
locate the msdart.dll in the <windows directory>/system32 folder, right
click and select COPY, Right click and select copy, right click again in a
blank area on the right side window and select PASTE, select the newly
pasted "copy of msdart.dll", right click and select RENAME, type
msdart32.dll then hit enter.

Hope this works. Please post back either way.
Good Luck

I found, downloaded and ran dartfix.bat, it said it had
created msdart32.dll, i then ran outlook but i am still
having the same problem. Any other suggestions???

Thanks for trying anyway :o)

Paul,

If you have MS SQL Server 2000 installed, you may try try applying the
SqlServer 2000 Service Pack 3. If you have it applied, you may need to
uninstall and reapply.
Also, I found this comment on the web: "Problems in MSDART.DLL appear to be
fixable on Windows XP by installing MDAC 2.8 RTM from the Microsoft web
site."

Good Luck
