Error Number: 0x800C0148

I am using Vista Mail.
It has been unstable for a while.
I had Symantec and uninstall it.

Now suddenly nothing is working with pop3. No sending and no receiving!!

It seems that problems occured with antivirus.
But at this moment nothing is active and this still doesnot work.

Any ideas are welcome.

What is the exact, complete error message?

Starting new threads about the same problem every few minutes seldom
gets you help any faster in this newsgroup. See if my answer to your
last thread helps.

It happens that I was trying to find a solution and was directed to several
sites that finaly are going to the same unique point. Now I know it. Sorry

1) I was quoting the error code Error # 0x800c0148.
2) This is the message when going for e.mail via pop3: " Ocorreu um
erro desconhecido. Protocolo: SMTP, Porta: 0, Secure(SSL): Não, Número
do Erro: 0x800C0148
Ocorreu um erro desconhecido. Conta: 'POP.NOVIS.PT', Servidor:
'pop.novis.pt', Protocolo: POP3, Porta: 110, Secure(SSL): Não, Número do
Erro: 0x800C0148".

3) This a genuine toshiba installation with genuine Norton (Symantec
antivirus).
I have it uninstalled with symantec removal tools.

4) system has SP1 "Windows6.0-KB936330-X86-wave1" update plus daily
update via MS.

5) All is still in the same status.

And this happens while choosing send and receive all in the mail.

It is likely that your mail account was corrupted by Norton while that antivirus
was still installed. Delete that account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate
that account. Let us know if that made any difference
 
I believe that Toshiba comes with SMS sofyware. Uninstall it.

It would be a good idea th uninstall anything fron Norton, NcAfee or Trend
at the same time.
