I continue to get Iexplore.exe Error Signature messages which make me have to
close out my browser. The AppVer:7.0.6000.16414 is always the same but the
Offset is often different. I am not at all a computer literate person and try
not to do too much to damage what I have. I have Norton AntiVirus and
SystemWorks, Windows XPSP2, and general software and plenty of room on my
harddrive. I have done the CCleaner, Windows Defender and don't know what
else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
For Malwares download both these software:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Run Disk CleanUp on your Drive then perform a Defrag in Safe mode.

2- Run a test for the Memory and also try to swap them around and clear any
dust may be in your PC case:
To test your memory download memtest from here:
http://www.memtest86.com/

Please perform one step (1,2) at a time and see if that will help.

I tried to download the "memtest86.com/ but apparently I couldn't do it right
because when I tried to open it my computer said it couldn't read the kind of
file it was. I performed the other steps you asked and nothing else helped
so far, thank you for your suggestions. I'll keep plugging away. If you
have any other ideas or can tell me how to download that memory test so that
my computer will run it I will certainly try it. I downloaded it, I just
can't open it. Again, thankyou.

Click on Free Download and download the ZIP file not the Tar file and unzip
the folder to make a bootable Floppy/CD/DVD to restart your computer with to
test your memory.
Also have a look in the event Viewer for any error messages (X) that can
shed some light on the causer and double click it to get more info about and
you can copy and paste in your next post.

Let us know.
Good luck.

I have done everything up to the MEMTEST86 which I have tried and tried but
apparently I am not astute enough to figure out how to download it and use it
and it doesn't really explain how to do it step by step for a novice such as
myself. I thought I had done it correctly but then all I saw was all my
files on the computer and nothing about errors or anything else and I
couldn't figure out how to do any of the tests it was referring to. I know
how to use the computer for most basics but I do not know how to do this type
of procedure and I am too afraid of doing something wrong and making a bad
situation worse without asking for additional guidance. Could you possibly
tell me step by step how to do this or guide to me a website that has a step
by step guide for someone like myself? My computer continues to shut down
even after I performed all the other things you suggested so I am at my wits
end so to speak. Thank you. Ginny
