Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'mail.i2k.com', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I called my provider and they said that it was windows mail. Please help
fix this. thanks!
 
It is possible that your antivirus program may be the culprit.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
antivirus programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT
just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.
