Can anyone tell me the meaning and fix to the following error message?
Several people have been getting it of late (using different databases)
whenever they try to run a query against mainframe linked tables. Windows XP
& Access 97.

[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2]SQL30081N A communication error has been detected.
Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used:
"SOCKETS". Location where the error was detected: "10.130.142.237".
Communication function detecting the error: "recv". Protocol specific error
code(s): "*", "0". SQLSTATE=08001 (#-30081)

Our IT "help" has been anything but on the issue.

Thanks - is there anything we can do about it (other than let IT do their
thing)?
