error message

I am trying to install softwate for a canon printer, I get the following
message.
%1 is not a valid win 32 application Then the installation fails. This
occurs whether it is on the canon cd or the files and drivers downloaded from
canon. Help

This message usually occurs when one or more files relating to
the install is corrupted.

Are you sure that the drivers are matching with your operating system and
designed for it? Some times it happens if they are Win9x drivers when trying
to install them on WinXP.
