error message

Fridgeman

Two or three times recently I have encountered a dialog
box stating the Microsoft has detected a problem. Each
time it refers to a file "MSMGT.exe" can someone tell me
what is happening. I do not seem to be able to find this
file.

Thanks for the info. I do have AdWare on my computer, but
some how it was turned off, and I assume that is how the
HiJacking took place, but using your information I have
cleaned it up. One question in your message under First I
could not find the two items you mention when I clicked
the advance all I got was 2 items (1) Run in seperate
memory space. (2) was greyed out.

Adaware only scans for items when you run it.
It doesn't prevent things from happening, it finds
these things after the fact.

Found the page you mention carried out instructions. Still
when I go to the desktop and right click on IE-Properties-
Advanced I get a dialog box with two items. (1) Run with
different credentials which is unchecked.
(2) Run in seperate memory space. This is greyed out. Am I
going into the wrong area by chance.

Hi Wesley,
Thanks for the info. I do have AdWare on my computer, but
some how it was turned off, and I assume that is how the
HiJacking took place, but using your information I have
cleaned it up. One question in your message under First I
could not find the two items you mention when I clicked
the advance all I got was 2 items (1) Run in seperate
memory space. (2) was greyed out.

Two or three times recently I have encountered a dialog
box stating the Microsoft has detected a problem. Each
time it refers to a file "MSMGT.exe" can someone tell me
what is happening. I do not seem to be able to find this
file.
