Can anyone help me. I have a compaq presario 6000 and it worked fine til
today. I was on it last night and it was fine. It kept 'going to sleep' then
it would reboot and it would do this every 3-4 min. Now it gave me the error
message 'ati2sgag.exe application error' and now it won't boot up at all.
Says i have a missing or corrupted file that i can try to fix using the set
up disks. I have the system recovery disks that came with the computer but if
i use them will i lose my stuff on there? Any idea why this happened? I have
windows xp and an ATI Radeon video card. Thanks, Brenda

Read the second section in the table:

ATI Smart Utility
http://www.itsolvers4u.com/h/Microsoft/processes/windows_xp_services_configuratio.htm

You might try reinstalling your ATI video drivers or disable this
service.
