within the setup.exe files of all cd software. i can not install any program from any cd i insert in either of my cdro
drives. i have reinstalled xp pro several times, but it did not fix the problem.what do i need to do?

Hi,

How are you able to install XP if you are not able to run Setup.exe from
Both CD Rom Drives?

If XP is installed from the same CD Rom Drive then your CD Rom Drive is
working fine. I believe it is an issue with Device Drivers of CD Rom Drive.

One of the options you can try is disconnect one of the CD Rom Drives and
Try to Install Software. Also suggest you to reinstall your CD Rom Drive
Drivers after disconnecting one of the CD Rom Drive. To do so follow the
instructions given below.
Right Click on My Computer -> Select Properties -> Select Hardware -> Click
on Device Manager Button -> Right Click on DVD/CD-ROM Drivers -> Select
Uninstall.
Select Action on Menu -> Click Scan for Hardware Changes (This will Search
for new hardware and install).

This should Solve the Problem!
