"The system has reached the maximum size allowed for the system part of the
registry. Additional storage requests will be ignore."

I have found some information about this on google, but only for win2000 and
NT. The sad part is that I have XP Pro. The problem started after I
installed sp2. I tried reformated and did a complete installation from
scratch, but it didn't help, the error returned after just a few days.

Can anyone help me?

Right Click on "My Computer", Properties>Advanced>Performance>Change>Maximum
registry Size (Enter Bigger Value)

See if that does it.

BMR777,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't have that option.

I have searched microsofts homepages, but they are somewhat inconsistent.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...en-us/sysinfo/base/registry_storage_space.asp
say that XP doesn't have a limit on the registry while
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...ange_the_size_of_the_computer_s_registry.mspx
say this it does (more or less the same instructions you gave me).
I also found some articles that stated that the choice for registry size was
removed from XP (but I don't have the links).

Sadly, I don't have a "Maximum Registry Size (MB)" box or anything like
that.

Found the solution. Turns out that the error disapeared when I uninstalled
nvidias nforce 5.1 drivers and used 4.27 instead. Odd and annoying, but at
least I have a working computer now.
