Hello.

When trying to import .pst files from my old office
computer to my current computer, I had no issues until I
tried to add my personal folder, which I've had for
years. Now when I try importing this filder, I get the
error: The file <filename> is not compatible with this
version of the Personal Folders information service.
Contact your administrator.

I've tried following the KB instructions of this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;839109

When I try to go into the Data Management function under
the File menu, as the KB article instructs, I dont see an
option for "Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File
(PST)."It only prompts me to add .pst files.

Am I screwed because I only have Outlook 2002, have I
done something wrong or do I just have a corrupt file?
It still shows 303,569KB when I select properties on the
file, so SOMETHING's there :)

Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide!

Have you transferred the .pst file onto your hard drive and removed the
"read only" attribute? If so, don't import it, just open it in Outlook.

thanks for trying. When I try it (file / open / outlook
data file) says that file is not compatible with this
version of the Personal Folders Information Service.
Same error when I try to open or import my contacts. 3
other personal folders were easily opened, so I'm
stumped. Unfortunately, this is the folder (of course) I
most need :)

Any other ideas?

Thanks again for your help.
