I have tried several time to install Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have
contacted the support center about it and we have tried diabling both my
anti-virus/firewall before installing and I still get the "Access Denied"
error message. Has anybody else ran across this problem and did you get the
problem resolved and what steps do you recommend I take to correct this
problem?

Thanks,
Jeff K.

I am curious. Just what support center did you contact?
Suggest you check out this article:

You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 2

HTH - Please report back as to whether this helps resolve the issue or not.

I tried the same thing, got the same message, and tried the article. However
the key it said it was trying to write did not exist in the registry. Can't
seem to figure out what is wrong.

Same here...says my registry is missing the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\EnforcedDirectories

In the registry I have an HTMLHelp\2.0... but no 1.x directory.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave
