I have been following the instruction given in 'How to recover from a
corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from Starting'. Part One states
to copy the files to a temp dir. I have been succesful at copying software,
sam, security, & default, but when I try to copy system to a backup I get
'The file could not be copied.' What shall I do now?

Thanks
Bradley

Your error indicates some problem with the media you are trying to copy TO.
Your drive or floppy is too full, too small, damaged, etc. If this is a hard
drive with lots of space (and Not the root folder), you might try Error
Checking the drive. (rightclick drive icon in My Computer folder pane,
Properties, Tools tab, see button for error checking.
