Hello,

Maybe I ask a too general question. Probably I should have said warning
instead of error messages. I got a warning message from Excel and
other applications. They are not serious messages. Messages such as do
you want to save this sheet? etc. My question is that is there any way
to suppress these warnings from any application to shut down soon?

Best regards,

You're question is still too broad. Each application runs according to
it's own rules. There is no general setting in XP to remove these
warning messages. In applications save the working document before
closing the app.

It sounds like you have your applications open and haven't saved some of the
files (Excel spreadsheets, to use your example).

Saving the files, and exiting the applications before you shut down would
solve these "problems"

Sure, close all programs before shutting down. You should do that anyway.

The answer is no. Warnings about unsaved files are critical. If XP closed down and lost all your unsaved work, you would be so pissed. The fact that you might know that your unsaved work is worthless is irrelevant. XP can't know that.
