Hi

I need help in solving this problem with address book
access in outlook 2002.

I recently upgraded to a new computer. I have installed
all applications then I copied all the documents and data
files to their respective directories. I

The contacts in outlook are intact, also all my e-mails
and calandars.

When I try to create a new e-mail and click on the TO: to
collect the recepients, I get an error message that the
database can not be ddisplayed at this time. I checked for
the prropes setup in the contact folder and I have re-
entered all the existin e-mail addresses, knowing that the
address book wouldd automatically update when it is saved,
but it did not happen.

I do not know what else I can do.
Can anyone help to resolve this problem?

Regards,

Nicholas

2 things you need to check:

1. Right click on each Contacts list in Outlook and open
properties.
Click on the 'Outlook Address Book' tab, and make certain
that 'Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book' is
checked.

2. Go to the 'Tools' menu and open the 'Address Book'.
Go to 'Tools' on the Address Book menu, and
click 'Options'.
The new window will give you a list of your contact lists.
See if there are extra listings. I have 2 lists
called 'Contacts'. One is the Contacts I use, and the
other is empty, but gave me problems when I tried to open
it.
Usually you can 'Remove' the offending contact list. I
can't get rid of this one, but as long as its tucked away
everything works fine.

Hope this helps,
Gary
