Can someone remind me where I find the Error Log, I know I've found it before, but been looking for
ages now and can't track it down.

Do you mean the Event Viewer?

To open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427

Or do you mean the Drwtsn32.log?

Log File Path:
[[The default location is the Documents and Settings\All users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson folder, which is created when you first run Dr.
Watson. Dr. Watson will create the Drwtsn32.log file containing the
diagnostic information about program errors in this folder.]]

It must be the Event Viewer then as I don't think I've ever run Dr. Watson. Not really sure what
that does.

Just looked at event viewer. Don't think that was it. The item I looked at before listed
progs/apps that had tried to do something and failed.

Dr. Watson is part of XP and catches errors that can be reported to
Microsoft. Go to run and execute "drwtsn32". You can view the logs there.

Event Viewer maintains logs about program, security, and system events on
your computer. You can use Event Viewer to view and manage the event logs,
gather information about hardware and software problems, and monitor Windows
security events.

Look under Application.

If not the Event Viewer, then it must be a 3rd party application.
