Error Loading Operating System

I have had my current computer for a couple of years now. I have not done
anything new (no newly installed software or hardware). Yesterday, my
computer froze to a blue screen, and I rebooted, everything was fine. Then,
in the afternoon, I was logging onto AOL, while it was signing on, I left the
computer. When I came back, it appears the computer rebooted, and I was left
with a black screen that showed the memory, etc. loading, at the bottom it
says "No SCSI Boot Device Found" hit Ctrl A for SCSI Device Configuration".
Then, a couple of lines down it says "Error Loading Operating System". I do
not believe I have a SCSI Boot device - I have a Seagate Barracuda ATA II
hard drive (the only hard drive). I cannot get my comptuer to start up!

Note: I plugged the hard drive into a different computer as the slave - The
drive had been partitioned to two drive letters, C & D, with Windows XP on
the C drive. When I plugged the hard drive into the other computer, I came
up with my documents on the "G" drive - which is where all of my data files
were stored - but could not open the "F" drive (which I think was the "C"
drive) - it says it is not formatted.

Sounds like the hard drive failed. Check the manufactureres web site for
diagnostic software.

If the drive failed, would it still be recognized when I plug it into a
different machine? Is it possible there is a corruption in the Partition
where Windows is loaded? I am able to access the other partition when
plugged into a different computer, just not the one where Windows is located.
