Andrew

Yesterday I ran Ad aware 6.0 and deleted some files that it located as
spyware. Since then whenever I start Windows I receive a message :- Error
Loading C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll The Specified module
could not be found.

Unfortunately I did not save any of the deleted files into quarantine so
cannot re-install them ( I will of course now use this option in future!!!)

If any one can give me an explanation as to what I have done and advice on
how I might resolve the problem I would be very grateful

Thanks

Andrew

That seems to have sorted it.

Thanks Andrew

I received the same warning on my system, I believe the bridge.dll file is
used for LAN or WiFi interfaceing. I run a wireless LAN and haven't had any
problems.
If you want the error to stop occuring you can disable it in the msconfig
feature. Just go to the Start button and go to RUN, type in msconfig and
press "OK", this will open the System Configuration feature, the last tab on
the top says Startup, this contains a list of all your software that starts
automatically when you turn on your computer, scroll down the list until you
see "Bridge" and click on the box next to it so there isn't a check mark.
After you make a change in the System Configuration it has to restart the
computer for the new correction to take place. If you want to reenable the
Bridge feature later for some reason you can repeat this process and reenable
any changes you've made, hope this helps.
