regards,

Have you tested RAM EWF on first partition after you deleted extra EWF
config partition?

This could be a problem with EWF that is not working on image that is booted
from CD.

Regards,
Slobodan

I have for => ewfmgr c:
Protected Volume Configuratio
Type RA
State ENABLE
Volume ID D7 FD A2 9A 00 7E 0
Device Name "\Device\HarddiskVol
Max Levels
Clump Size 51
Current Level
Memory used for data 7642112 byte
Memory used for mapping 4096 byte

and with

ewfmgr C:

But how did you configured EWF.
Have you used my solution from www.xpefiles.com or do you have extra config
partition created.
If you have extra partition.
You need to delete it, and then to test if EWF is working.

Slobodan

regars,

According to this, EWF is enabled and working properly.

So this problem is not related to EWF. But then I have no idea what could be
a problem.

regars,

re

Configuration : Celeron 2Ghz // 396 Mo DDR

I create a .iso with hd2iso and burn the image with nero
5.5.10 under a cd-rw.

I boot, all is good but at the end error :

=> Windows - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was enable to save the data for the files
c:windows... The data has been lost. This error may be
cause by a failureof your computer hardware or network
connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

why ?

Sorry, but I have watched the newsgroup that you give me
but
they are nothing for me or I don't see it

I have 396 Mo Ram.
Hard disk 40 Go with only 1 partition of 600 Mo for xpe
and all over is unallocated.
The run time image => 150 Mo.

I don't understand why I haven't enough memory for the
ewf and el torito

Is possible that ewf work but badly configured ?

You have more than enough memory.
I said somehow you run out of memory. (this would explain the problem) I
never said that this is actually what is happening.
Is possible that ewf work but badly configured ?
RAM EWF can't be badly configured, because you don't have options when you
configure it.
It is either working and protecting correct partition, or it is not.
Simple as that. But only thing you need to make sure is that it is actually
enabled and protecting right partition. (This is more like a matter of trust
that if it is working on HDD that it will work on CD, for me it always
worked.).

Slobodan

hell

when I boot from cdrom
The error message changed, now I hav
1) => Windows Product Activation : A problem is preventing windows from acuuratl
checking the license for this computer. error code 0x8009000

2) => User Environnement : Windows cannot create a tempory profile directory. this may be caused by insufficient security righ

I see on the newsgroup that this probleme is the size of the partition but for me it's a cd-rw

I burn it with a cd-rw , it's good or not

El-torito also uses partitions, they are copied from HDD.

So if you were able to pass FBA on your HDD, then this should not be
problem.

If you copy post FBA image to some other disk before you use hd2iso then you
must make sure that FIRST PARTITION size on than new disk matches size of OS
partition when you run FBA.

Slobodan

I don't understand the question.

Can you give more explanation about the problem.

You forgot to swap HDD and El-Torito volume letters in your XPe image before
final shutdown.
Or perhaps etprep failed to do this.

You can do this manually if you want from regedit HKLM\System\MountedDevices
I can't give you link that describe this entry since XPe tips page is
currently offline.

You don't need to have HDD present and it should still work. When you make
correct El-Tor.
and my question is : Is it possible ?

You can use CD for this purpose.

Slobodan

Sorry for the next message!!

When I boot from the cd "el torito" with the hard disc where is xpe, he boot.
But when I boot with a another Hard disc (XP pro) he can't boot
(error => Can't load user environnement..// Windows Product Activation // isass.exe).

My problem is I want to create a cd for the maintenance which is
compatible with different Hard Disc to restore the system
