error during send request in first handshake

we have a network server environment of 2000 advanced servers and xp client
machines, recently we have started getting a message pop up on the client and
servers ... "error during send request in first handshake. error 12029" ...
any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.
 
What application is responsible for this pop up? Any error events in the
system or application event log?
