error downloading codec...

Much thanks to anyone that can help with this.
When i download a video file and then try to open with
windows media player I get a message on bottom of
player "error downloading codec..." then it plays with
sound only and no picture?
Have tried to open with other versions of media player or
with different software yet get same result.

after downloading and watching the movie "matrix" from

kazaa i had the same experience. at a certain point in
the movie it "crashed". what you need to do is update the
program that interprets the "stream" of information, i
cant remember exactly how i worked around it, but i
installed some complementary program that i found for
free on the net. as i recall it, it was a site that had
lots of "codec" stuff on it for people like you and me.

Good luck, and im sorry i cant give you more precise
information.
