Error deleting contact

I am running Microsoft Outlook 2003, and am able to delete some contacts.
But when I try to delete others I receive the error message: "The messaging
interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart
Outlook."

Can anyone help me!

When this happened to me once, I created a new PST, made it my delivery
location, and then copied all the contacts (and all other items as well)
that I wanted to keep to the new PST. I then closed the old one in Outlook
and deleted it after closing Outlook.
