my problem is that whenever I start up my laptop I got an
error message: Windows Script Host...error code 800a03ea.
This means that something written with the Windows Script Host is
starting with Windows and failing. You need to determine what that is.
Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes. Then look on
the Startup tab and uncheck unnecessary items. To find out what items
are, look them up on this site:
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm
Continue your computer maintenance by doing the following:
1) scan with current antivirus ("current" means a version not earlier
than 2002 but using updated virus definitions); 2) remove spyware with
Spybot Search & Destroy (
www.safer-networking.org) and Ad-aware
(
www.lavasoftusa.com). These programs are free, so use them both since
they complement each other. Be sure to update these programs before
running, and it is a good idea to do virus/spyware scans in Safe Mode;
3) delete temporary and Temporary Internet Files.
Make sure your operating system has all necessary security patches by
visiting Windows Update, too.
