I am attempting to install a software package on a XP workstation. The LAN
was previously a Novell. Although none of the novell appears active at this
time and is runnint totally on TCP/IP Windows XP. The software company spoke
of a utility that would remove all rements of Novell.
#1. What is error 1600.?
#2 Any idea what software utility they could be speaking of?

Thanks

The only Error 1600 I know about is one which means there is not enough
memory to open a table with the USE command in Visual FoxPro. You need to
be more specific about the exact error message.

If you're running on TCP/IP, make sure you remove IPX/SPX as a protocol
since you won't need it any more since you're no longer using Netware.
There may also be an entry in Add Programs for the Netware Client (if you
had that installed) and you might want to delete it. If any other small
parts remain, I don't thing they'll be taking up resources (but you can
check the entries in Task Manager to see what's running and make sure
nothing related to Netware is loading up - if so, you may have some more
cleanup work to do to find that application and remove it). You could also
go to a command prompt an type msconfig.exe and check the Start Up menu tab
(as well as the other tabs) to see if there's anything remaining that
relates to Netware and then remove it. If you're very careful and know what
you're doing, you could also go to Regedit from the command prompt and
search the registry for "netware" to see if anything comes up that you might
be able to delete - but be VERY careful here because you could easily hose
your entire system if you delete the wrong thing.
