Error Checking

When I try to run error checking, I choose to run next time windows
starts. On start I get this error msg: "Cannot open volume for firect
access". What's the problem? Thanks

Is the Windows XP SP2 update installed?

Have you been using another Disk Checking utility?

Yes. It's SP2 and I never used another utility. Now I see this message
every time I boot.

What anti-virus and anti-spyware programmes are you running? What
firewall?
