Hi.
I posted the item below and got a reply
-----------------------------------------------------------------
See if CHKNTFS can help you: "Description of Enhanced Chkdsk, Autochk,
and Chkntfs Tools in Windows 2000"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't have windows 2000. To be correct, I was doing the "error checking"
on drive C.
How can I stop this from happening during boot up?
Thanks,
Fred

1) disk scan:
I tried to do a disk scan and it said that it could not perform the scan but
would have to perform it at boot-up.
Now, every boot-up, tries to do a file check and says - cant open files and
then fails.
How can I turn this off and do a disk scan?
