Everytime I try to check for errors on drive C: from My Computer I get an
error and it makes me close it. Is there another way to check for errors?
Thanks

Nathan

I'm sure we can help, but we need a little more info.

1) How are you trying to check for errors now?
2) What error do you get when you try?

Don't have a solution, Just a couple of suggestions:
1) Chkdsk, Windows or the drive may be corrupt.
2) Backup any important files.
3) Download and run HD Tune at: http://www.hdtune.com/
4) Identify the drive manufacture and download their utilities. They have
some non-destructive test that can be run.

Ok I ran HD Tune and I had like 17% Damaged Blocks but I didn't have an
option to repair. I downloaded a tool from my hard drive manufacturer and it
said it would take 240 hours or something like that. What are my options
now?

Nathan

If 17% of your drive is reported as having bad blocks/sectors then your
drive is not long for this world. It's time to get a replacement, save all
vital data files, including email folders to CD or DVD media. As your drive
manufacture if it truly does a low level format and repair or just a scan.
Also be aware that a low level format will wipe your files.
