HELP! Everytime Log in to Windows an error message displays reading "C:\WINDOWS\System32\system32.exe is not a valid Win32 application". What is this, and how do I fix it? Help! Please!

"had the same problem but I am running windows xp. What worked for me
was I went into my
regedit>Hkey_local_Machine/software/microsoft/windows nt/current
version/winlogon. In the right box go to shell it should read Explorer
exe windows\system32\system32.exe Right click on shell open modify and
delete windows\system32\system32.exe Leave Explorer Exe. and reboot.
This fixed my problem."

System32.exe is _not_ a valid Windows file, but rather a file name
commonly used for a component of several well-known viruses, worms,
and Trojans.
