Error Applying Transforms: ERROR

I'd like to uninstall Quicktime so I can install the latest version.
However, I get an error message which says (in part): Error applying
transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid. Then
a path is provided. Can someone explain this error and tell me how to
fix the problem? Thanks.
