It seems that this is a new worm using yet another windows security
hole. Check out other messages for basic fixes and wait a few days to
get rid of the worm. And ... well maybe the correct solution is to use
Linux. ;-)

This is happenning all over the place. I had three
servers go down last week with this exact message. Today
the problem is hitting over 200 users in various IP
blocks. It seems like it is coming over the internet
because disconnecting the internet cuts off the problem.

hi yes this happened to me too i called my internet
provider and they told me they had some sort of virus if
you call your provider they will explain how to rectify
this ok mine seems to be ok now

Not sure whether or not you know already but the system you are
working on has been infected with the virus.

1. Enable the Internet Connection Firewall

To configure Internet Connection Firewall manually for a connection:
1. In Control Panel, double-click Networking and Internet
Connections, and then click Network Connections.
2. Right-click the connection on which you would like to enable
ICF, and then click Properties.
3. On the Advanced tab, click the box to select the option to
Protect my computer or network.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. If the system is encountering an RPC error and is rebooting...

Change Service Properties to avoid the reboot:

1. Open up the Services snap-in.
- This can be done by right clicking on "My Computer", select
"Manage", select "Services and Applications" and click on "Services".
- This can be done by going to the Control Panel and
selecting to switch to "Classic View", double-click on "Administrative
Tools" and select "Services".
2. Double-click on the "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" service.
3. On the User Interface for RPC, click the "Recovery" tab.
4. Under the "Recovery" tab, go to the "First failure:" drop
down and change the value from "Restart the Computer" to "Restart the
Service".
5. Change the "Restart service after:" value to 5 minutes.
6. Install the MS03-026 / 823980 on the computer.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823980

Save the file to your desktop and go to step 3.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Go to http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=stinger and
download the Stinger.exe and save it to you desktop as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Run the virus removal tool *Stinger* and when it has completed run
the security update you downloaded from the Microsoft web site.

5. If you encounter an error (something to do with cryptographic
service) when installing the security patch from Microsoft you will
need to re register some files.

Go to start and run and in the open box type in the following...You
will need to do each of these individually hitting the OK button after
each one.

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

After you have completed all of the above then try reinstalling the
security patch.

Hope this helps!
