error after installation of sp2

I just downloaded SP2 from the Microsoft website and restarted the
machine as asked. The laptop is now completely stuck. I get a few
options for re-start but none of them works (I always come back to the
same screen).
I cannot find my Windows XP installation CD. What can I do???

you need to do a repair installtion...
so you will have to find your cd!
