Error 718 and 733

I have attached a separate modem to my computer to access broadband.
Everything has worked on one computer, so there's nothing wrong with the
device or installation - but on my laptop it keeps failing at the final stage
'connection to the remote computer'. It says I have Error 718 and Error 733.
Any ideas on how to fix this??? Thanks very much, Phil

Error 718: PPP time out waiting for a valid response from the server
usually caused by a wrong username and/or password.

733 - The PPP control protocol for this network protocol is not available on
the server.

TCP/IP protocol may not be correcting installed or bindings may be
incorrect.
