Error 1607 message when trying to install Installshield Scripting Run Time

I have been trying for days to figure out how to get around a problem
when trying to load the software for the mini IPOD, and I get the
message about error 1607. I have gone under safe mode and fixed the
permissions on the Windows Installer folder (what a hassle!), and still
cannot get the software to load. I have gone to InstallShields website
and followed their instructions, although I am unable to load the most
recent driver for IsScript.msi (I get a different error message about
windows installer not being installed properly!).

Anybody have a suggestion or know how to fix this problem? We have XP
home edition.

Arggghh, this is so frustrating!!!

Well, I finally got it to work by registering the "Msiexec" file. I
found this from the following site:

It is a good source with mutliple solutions to try.
