Try going to MSAS in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Click the Change button, then put a mark next to Update MSAS, then click
Next. Please let us know if this resolves the issue.

I had the same problem of Error 101 when I originally
tried installing to drive K:. But all worked fine when I
installed accepting the default location of C:/Program
Files/...
I had the same problem on XP Pro.
Go to the directory where you installed the MSPW
(default C:/Program Files/Microsoft AntiSpyware/)
click on gcasDtServ (aka run the program).
It solved my problem. This has been suggested
in another thread on this newsgroup.
gcasDtServ.exe is the Microsoft AntiSpyware Data Service . To run the
program one would run GIANTAntiSpywareMain.exe .
Just speculating here ... perhaps running the Data Service registers
the program in Add/Remove Programs ?
