I'm now getting this same error with Event ID's of 8193(Volume Shadow
Copy) and 4609(COM+...). I did, prior, update VIA 4in1 driver from safe
mode which fixed my hibernate problem, now I get this error and cannot
get XP updates. I cannot say for sure whether the VIA 4in1 update caused
this as I didn't really try the XP update for some period of time. I've
run a system NAV scan and no virus's showing. Yikes!!!

Resent below as I'd forgotten a key extra part in previous msg.

I'm now getting this same error with Event ID's of 8193(Volume Shadow
Copy service) and 4609(COM+...service). I also did look into the update
log file and found a specific code number, 0x800C0002. I did, prior,
update VIA 4in1 driver from safe mode which fixed my hibernate problem,
now I get this error and cannot get XP updates. I cannot say for sure
whether the VIA 4in1 update caused this as I didn't really try the XP
update for some period of time. I've run a system NAV scan and no
virus's showing. Yikes!!!

Thank you so much for the link!!!! I only had to do the first part, as
instructed, and it worked. Wonder what it was? It wasn't the time/date,
cookies, files(to delete), nor clearing the history as I had already
done that much myself. Had to be something to do with cleaning of the
disk as I had not checked *every* single box, excepting "Compress Old
Files". Well now I'm off and running again and all is well until the
next gremlin pops up. Thanks again! CB
