I need help. How do you delete read only files from a cd.
I tried to unselect the read only box in the properties
screen, but access is denied. How do you override the
access so that you can delete the files?

If the CD was not created using packet writing software, then you cannot
delete individual files, you can only erase the entire CD. If you burned
this CD using XP's built in burning function, you cannot delete individual
files as it is closer to mastering software such as that used on audio CDs
as opposed to packet writing that allows dragging and dropping selected
files directly to CD.

Also, if this is a CD-R as opposed to CD-RW, even if packet writing software
was used to create it, deleting a file from the CD serves no useful purpose
as the space cannot be recovered.

How do i erase the entire cd?
