Equation Editor Problem

If I create a slide and insert an object using Insert/Object/Microsoft
Equation 3.0, everything looks fine both on my monitor and when
projected on a screen in a large capacity (400 students) lecture hall.
However if using Custom Animation I animate this object, the fonts
develop a very ragged appearance when in display mode. Vertical and
horizontal portions of fonts look fine, but curves and diagonals look rough.

I know I can circumvent this problem by simply converting the single
slide into as many slides as I have animated objects, but that seems
like a very crude solution.

Can you help me?

Thanks.

Can't help much, but can commiserate. You can make the fuzziness less
obvious by using more chunky fonts (not always possible with the equation
editor, I know), or by having less contrast between the text color and the
background color. Different monitors and different projectors show the
fuzziness differently as well, so don't judge the final output by what is on
your screen/projection system. Finally, people have found that ensuring the
most recent video drivers are installed and playing with hardware
acceleration can affect the fuzziness.

If you want to help us help Microsoft figure out what is going on, send me
information about your system. There is an article on my site called
"Anti-Alias Problems? Where?" that runs through what we know can affect
things. At the bottom, there are several links to examples and to some test
results. At the end of the second article is the list of what we need.
