Equation Editor - brackets not printing out

When using Euation Editor in Word 97 or XP, brackets are visible on screen but not when printed out. Does anyone have a solution for this? Equation Editor has been re-installed twice.

What printer? Is it using font substitution or downloading TTfonts?
