I have some documents that have an equation that I cannot see. I see the red X which tells me something is there. I have gone to Options, View. There is a check in drawings and not in picture placeholder. I also get an error about invalid object when starting Equation editor. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried different things but still have the issues. I have a complete install.

I have a similar problem which only showed up this morning. I wonder if there is another virus going around which corrupts the equation editor and the picture editor. I see the equation and the picture in the respective editor, but when I close it I see nothing. Or I see the red cross

Very strange. Any help

Thanks,

This article applies to Word 2002, but includes links to the
applicable Word 97, 98, and 2000 articles if you are using one of those
versions

We have an article on our site that *may* explain this. The link
to the article is above my signature. If that doesn't help, send
me a document privately and I'll take a look at it. It could be
the equation objects are corrupted. Some times that happens, and
you can open them up in Equation Editor, but can't see them in
Word.
