Anyone knows how to make Epson EPL-5500 laser printer work with Windows XP
Pro SP-1'd?
The built-in Microsoft driver doesn't work, a pop-up appears saying "This
document failed to print" and no troubleshooting item applies to my case.
Cable (parallel/Centronics) is OK, printer is OK and on-line, paper is OK.
Epson Windows-2000 compatible (THEY say) driver doesn't work in the same
way. I can print fine from DOS and from Linux, I'm starting to think that XP
(and its evil parallel port managing) is the real problem.
No means to fix the problem using BIOS adjustments, XP tuning (parallel port
options, printer driver options, etc.), Windows Update, other Epson or
Microsoft printer drivers and VMWare emulations of different OS's on the
same machine.
I'm stuck with this problem! Don't wanna buy a 30$ USB to parallel adapter
(with no assurance it will work) 'cause Epson doesn't want to write a driver
for XP! Aaargh!
Could anyone help me?
Many thanx in advance!

Byes 2 all,

Alby
